Butterflies @ Diva's

Good Morning just a quickie from me today as I'm away in the sunshine and it's time for a new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week Team A have the theme of

Butterflies or Birds

Not my favourite thing but I have a stash of them lol.
You think they are all pretty and cute but when you look close - they freak me out!

I did have this really in-your-face black feather butterfly to put on this card but it really gave me the creeps! lol you should have seen me trying to add it - I added it to the bin in the end! I went with a nice and not natural looking nylon variety!!
The papers are Prima Firefly and really vibrant, also you can't see my black pom pom edging but its really cute!

The image was kindly given to me by this weeks sponsor

These are such fun little images and colour up really lovely.
Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of the challenge, the prize and some beautiful inspiration from the Diva's.

That's it from me
Hopefully I'm laying in the sun somewhere hot,
I was a wee bit stressed and ran away from home for a week!!

Heck of a Spooky Challenge

Good morning guys its the start of a brand new month and that means a brand new challenge at

HECK OF A CHALLENGE

and this month Carrie came up with

  Spook It Up!

oooooh scary scary lol
This is Lisa's all time favourite theme as she is an absolute Halloween nut!!

I thought I would stretch myself and NOT make a card this time
and I used a chipboard door hanger I got from the Craft and Hobby Store when Pam and I went up to visit Lisa's earlier this year.
I covered the hanger with last year's Halloween papers from Echo Park 'Apothecary collection' and the little ghost and Frankenstein are 'Simply Shelley' stickers that I stuck on acetate, they have been in my stash for an age! The blinged up bat branch is also one of last years purchases from Prima and was in my opinion the perfect addition to the hanger! The die cut fence is a memory box gate that I cut out 3 times and stuck together.

Head over to the Heck Of A Challenge blog for all the details of this challenge and some seriously spooky makes from my teammies - they have really pushed the boat out this month!! While you are there don't forget to see if you were the lucky winner of our first challenge or maybe one of the TOP PICKS.

That's it from me today I have lots of organising to do before I head up north to meet my favourite girlies!

Thanks for stopping by

Thursday can only mean one thing....
It's time for another challenge over at
and this week my bestest blogging buddy Lisa is the hostess with the mostest and she has given us a fabulous theme
'Bloomin Marvellous'

I saw this design in a magazine (I'm sorry I don't know which one because I ripped the page out to keep) and I had to have a go myself. The image is a fabulicious Stampin' Bella I think this one is called Babycarriageabella. The shapes were all cut with nesties (some of them grand) the flowers are a mix of Prima and punched, lots of brads and ribbon from my stash and little alphabet stickers.
I'm quite happy with this - blooming in every sense with that image!

Moving Along With A Fairytale

Once upon a time in a land far away (encase you hadn't guessed I'm on holiday) there was a little blog called
it was a lovely little blog, it gave away fabulous prizes to really nice, clever people, and this blog had a Fairy Godmother called Hazel. Hazel liked
Fairytales
she wanted all the people in the surrounding lands to like fairytales, she wanted all the people to use fairytales as an inspiration to everything they made.

On this blog was a beautiful young (OK OK I'm using artistic licence here) girl called CinderLaurie, CinderLaurie made a card for the nice blog
Upon this card was all the things CinderLaurie dreamed of, oh where oh where could her Prince Charming Edwin be? Was he back in the land of Magnolia? She'd danced with him under the stars in the garden with the rolled roses and butterflies on the night of the Prima papers ball, when she'd lost her shoe running away as the clock struck 9pm and she didn't want to miss Downton Abbey.

CinderLaurie had sisters (oh God they are so gonna kill me for this!) who had made cards too, and all the people from the surrounding lands flocked to the little blog to look at their cards. Their cards were beautiful and they were beautiful too, no one is ugly in this fairytale ha!

There was a beautiful cloud, it was a
and this beautiful Crimson Cloud had a wonderful gift to give away to someone on the little blog, someone special.
And they all lived happily ever after.
The End.

Hope you liked my fairytale LOL
I'll be back from my hols next week and get around to catching up on all your blogs
Love 'n' Big Hugs Laurie xx

And as if by magic Cinderlauries Fairy godmother would like to enter the card into the following challenges ...

I did have a meeting with the fabulous Lisa from Mess2Magic last weekend she is an amazing lady who is so much fun, I didn't want her to go home!! As I was working Lisa was helping me and we had her making Candy Floss in no time!
Thursday already this week means its DT time for me over at Moving Along With The Times and this week is really special for me as the gorgeous girls over there have let me set the theme for this weeks challenge. As its Easter and I've been dieting for the last month I've been fantasizing about

Totally Edwin

Good morning everyone I hope you are all well today, thank you for stopping by my little blog. Today I want to share with you a card I made for the Totally Tilda challenge 'How Does Your Garden Grow?' I wasn't sure if only Edwin was allowed so, to cover myself on that I added Tilda as a butterfly!

I have used my fabulous, favourite, fantastic 'Fairy Flora' paper pad from Prima (thats a bit of a tongue twister for a monday morning!) and I have distressed it to within an inch of its life to qualify for the challenge over at Magnolia Down Under. The colours on these papers are so lovely I'm only bringing myself to use it because I bought two pads! Bunny Zoes Craft challenge want to see 'Spring Flowers Everywhere' Magnolia-licious Highlites are having a brilliant Blog Hop involving Mini Tilda's & a Spring theme which you should all check out they have an amazing DT. All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge 'Birthday' theme is still on  (this is my 2nd & last entry)
7 Kids College Fund  theme of 'Squares' is still running and this is my entry No. 2 of the maximum 3.
I have used Edwin catching Butterflys and Love Fence Doo Hickey Die both from Magnolia, I painted the fence with Antique Linen Crackle Paint, the flowers are from Magnolia and Wild Orchid, the Butterfly is from Craft Essential and the image was coloured with Aqua Markers which I got from Joanna Sheen. It was the first time I have used them - I have a long way to go to master them!!

Thanks for looking especially to those of you that leave a comment and make my day!! I got 30 comments the other week and I was beside myself with joy!! Simple things - please simple minds!!

Eco Bunny?

Hello all, I've missed you! I feel like I've been away from blog land forever and it's not even a week yet!! I was caught up with some party planning etc but now I'm back with a vengeance.....
Before I show you my latest creation I'd like to thank everyone over at Ladybugs Crafts Ink for choosing me in their top 3 last week - I was well chuffed! Thank you Hayley, my banner is clearly on display and will remain so!!!!
Today I want to share with you my little green rabbit who I've named Eco... (get it?) She is my kind of pet (doesn't need taking for a walk)

I've been dying to get my hands on this Prima Fairy Flora paper pad, it was always out of stock but Cuddly Buddly had it in stock so I bought 2 to make sure I don't run out!
My little Bunny Tilda is from last year and I'm entering her into the Easter Challenge at Totally Tilda it's the first time I have used her and I feel really guilty about that, since I've been blogging I'm using everything!!!  I used Mina's sketch at Just Magnolia to qualify for their challenge. All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge have a theme of 'Birthdays' this month. Truly Scrumptious have a challenge of 'Pearls & Swirls' and this has both & over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge 'Spring' is the theme. 7 Kids College Fund are looking for 'Squares'

The sentiment is LOTV, I used the tag and swirl Doo Hickey dies from Magnolia, a Martha Stewart border punch, the green velvet ribbon is American Crafts and the other bits are from my stash.
Thank you for looking

A Challenge For Myself

Hello again, welcome and thank you for visiting. I'm getting the hang of this blogging malarkey now and I'm absolutely loving it! Even if nobody reads my drivel I'm happy posting it!
I decided that I needed to challenge myself and the hardest thing for me is making male cards (OK I made it easier by making a mini man card, but technically boys will be men eventually!) It's really hard to get texture on a card for a man, ribbons, bows, gems and flowers just don't cut it, buttons is our only saving grace. These stars were from an old Christmas garland that was gonna get thrown out, but me being a hoarder, 'nothing ' actually gets thrown out!
I'm really pleased with how this has turned out, the stars, buttons & pop up aliens I stamped and cut out have given it what I think is usually missing from my cards for men or boys.
Originally I didn't create this card for any challenges, just me, but I came across Anyone For Anya after I'd made it. I'm not sure if it fits their criteria of '2 Images' but I have nothing to lose by trying. I love the Anya images and enjoyed making it. This was the first time I have used this stamp ( Oldie But A Goodie have got me in the habit of dusting off all my great but tucked away stamps)
I was also pointed in the direction of the Allsorts Challenge by my buddy Lisa who have a theme of 'Saving Nature' this week and my stars qualify for that.
The paper for this card is from Prima's 'Spaceboy' 6 x 6 pad and I love it, the stamp as I said is an Anya from The Greetings Farm everything else is from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by x
