3 or More Layers @ Diva's

Hello again lovely people, my presence here is few and far between lately, I'm just not feeling it anymore and the bad news just keeps coming this year! Roll on 2015!!
I did manage to put together a card that I had coloured the image for months ago
(I have at least half a dozen half made DT cards on my desk)
Just in time for a new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and the theme is

3 Or More Layers

Here's my effort
As much as I'm not creating I still adore these gorgeous images from Saturated Canary and do still manage to buy more! This one I have had for a while but yesterday I decided to take a little look over Krista's shop and wow lots of new images I hadn't seen popped into a basket, maybe it will give me the kick up the backside I need to get back in any sort of routine!!
The beautiful papers I've used before, they're a Nitwits pad from LOTV called Bare Necessities, my favourite embellishment and now trademark flowers from lots of different places and the 'Cherish' is a metal word I've had for ages and I gave it a coat of Guesso before painting it with acrylic paint.

We have a fabulous sponsor this week

and you can find all the details you need and some fantastic inspiration from my talented teammies over at the main challenge blog.

That's it from me, hopefully my next visit won't be so long

Pretty Pastels @ MAWTT

Hello Peeps, I hope you are all well. I'm way ahead of myself here as its only mid March when I'm writing this! I may edit this with an update on life lol
It's time for a new challenge at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this week our hostess is Kelly
and she has given us a lovely theme of

Pretty Pastels

Nice and easy for us all so I hope you will join us.
Here's my offering, I made this for one of the first blog friends I made, the lovely Sue B and I'm pleased to say we are on 2 fabulous DT's together now so I get to spend lots of 'virtual time' with her!!

The image is of course one from Krista Smith at Saturated Canary, this one is called Yvonne and when I saw her I couldn't resist! I have far too many images, especially Saturated Canary, but I guess that's why its called an addiction!! Papers are from Maja Designs, I think they are the Spring pad. I'm not fed up of using my PTI birthday die yet, I hope your not fed up of seeing it!!

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of the challenge and some super pretty inspiration from my talented teammies.

That's all from me, I will be back tomorrow

Buttons & Bow & Bon Voyage!

Morning everyone I'm a little excited today (I've been excited lots of days running up to this weekend) this is the last card I will be here to post before I fly off on holiday at the weekend. I have scheduled a few posts while I'm away but I won't be around to visit you and comment. Someone has to lay around in the sunshine all day and I'm taking one for the team!!! I couldn't believe it when a friend of mine said she had rented a house in Barbados and she had a bedroom going spare if I wanted it? What is even harder to believe is it took me a week to decide if I wanted to go!!!! Finally I came to my senses and booked a flight so its adios amigos for a couple of weeks.

Back down to earth with a bump though, first things first, it's time for a new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week Rebekah has given us

Buttons and Bows

Easy peasy lemon squeasy just how I like them!!
I've had this Saturated Canary Pack Light image on my desk coloured for ages and I thought it would be fitting for me going away (I wish I looked that glamorous when I'm trying to squeeze everything in my case) The papers are MME and a couple of years old at least. Lots of die cuts, LaLa Land banner, Magnolia So Lovely heart tag, Marianne (I think) Eiffel Tower. The little cream hearts are buttons that I chopped the back off and I adore the pearl string from Live & Love Crafts.

Head over to the main challenge blog for all details of this weeks challenge and the prize on offer from the sponsor

and some amazing inspiration from the Diva's, you won't be disappointed!

That's it from me, thank you for stopping by

Spring @ Totally PaperCrafts

A very good morning to you all, I hope you are all surviving the weather (and for those of you with young children) the half term holidays! It's very quiet here as we still haven't managed to get our business back up and running since the flood before Christmas so no work again during the holidays.
All the peace and quiet is due to come to an end as the builder is starting on Monday (fingers crossed he turns up). It's a bit exciting choosing everything but I'm so indecisive lately it could turn into a nightmare!!

I'm here today to let you know about a new challenge at

TOTALLY PAPERCRAFTS

and this week it seems

Spring

has arrived (maybe a little early as I'm looking out my window whilst scheduling this post!) We can but hope it warms up QUICK!!
Here is my card, I went for soft spring pastels as my interpretation and tulips in my flowers

I'm trying to fit my DT work with cards I need at the minute and I needed an 18th birthday card for my friends daughter, I might just add her name to this before I send it. The Saturated Canary image has been coloured in on my desk for almost a year and luckily I found some papers that matched up lovely from a LOTV Nitwits pad I've also had for ages. I usually like to colour my image after I've chosen the papers and I don't know why I didn't this time!! I cut the 18 out with my Cricut (think I've used it about 3 times now, see I knew I NEEDED it!).  There's a tiny little key charm hanging from the organza bow too.

We have a fabulous sponsor this week

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some beautiful spring time inspiration from my teammies too.

That's all from me today, thank you for stopping by and looking and for any comments you may leave too. Have a super weekend I'm away again at my Mums.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges.....

Sketchie Time @ MAWTT

Good morning good people I hope the world finds you well, I seem to be in a jolly good mood for some unknown reason (at least I was when I was writing this - scheduled again) I hope it's lasted!!

Time for a brand new challenge at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this week the big boss Hazel has given us a

Sketch

to follow. It's ages since I followed a sketch, I do love a good sketch especially when my mojo goes missing, its just what I need to get me back on the creative path!

Here's the sketch

and here's my take on it.
A little different again from me - no flowers in sight lol. I'm not sure how I feel about this card, I had all these elements that went together but I'm not sure I like them together if that makes sense? I loved this Saturated Canary 'Usherette' image when I bought it but I've found it really difficult to use. I don't know if you can see it very well but I cut my Tim Holtz on the edge star die out of silver mirri card and also the sizzix film strip has been backed with acetate film. I suppose it hasn't photographed too well either but even in real life I'm not too sure!

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of the challenge, there is also a little prize up for grabs this week and some gorgeous inspiration from my talented teammies.

That's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow

Diva's and A Proud Mum!

Morning lovely peeps, my doesn't the time fly!! Can you believe January is almost over already? I haven't even had time to get myself organised this year and I had such great plans lol!
I had a day out in London on Monday, my friend had bought me a ticket to see The Bodyguard musical for Christmas and I had such a lovely time, I was worried it would too much for me too soon as I got picked up at 8.30am and we didn't get home till gone 1am but it was very slow paced with a long lunch and an early supper tucked inbetween the retail therapy!! We are doing it all over again in a fortnight to see The Commitments. The only thing I missed out on was I had to have orange juice in Harvey Nicks Champagne Bar as I'm not allowed alcohol for 6 Months!!

Now the real reason for my visit, it's time for a new challenge over at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week the theme is

Vintage With Lace

I have to be honest I struggle with making vintage cards though I do love the style, I'm hoping my frayed and torn edges will be vintage enough!!

I used a beautiful Saturated Canary stamp that is having its 2nd outing with me lol, I have so many that I haven't used yet so to use one twice is really rare. It's such a shame they are not carrying on with their challenges this year, not that I joined in that much but I always wanted too!
The papers are Pion and the tiny stamp is from Stampin' Up! My usual flower display is from everywhere!! WOC, Hobby House, Ribbon Girl, Kort Et God and Magnolia and the beautiful little 'love' clip is from this weeks fabulous sponsor, where I spend all my pennies

I dare you to visit and not buy something amazing!! Everytime I go there they have something I can't live without - again!! Head over to the Diva's Challenge blog for all the information you need and some glorious vintage inspiration from my talented teammies.

Before I go some of you that actually read to the end of my waffle may remember I went off to my eldest sons PhD Graduation ceremony a week or so ago in Exeter and I promised a picture.
Meet Dr Jordan James Large.........
I was so proud and on the verge of tears all day!! To think I was so ill just a few days before that I could have missed this doesn't bear thinking about. I'm amazed at what he has achieved, he worked so hard going through school a year ahead of himself from the age of 4 and not stopping till finally at the tender age of 25 he has more letters behind his name than he has in it! A Dr of Mathematics and Economics and (I know I'm biased but) one of the nicest, kindest people I've ever come across.
I love you little man!

I'm crying now lol, what am I like? Thank you to everyone for all your comments,
all your good wishes and your friendship.

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

Another One of Those Just For Fun Cards!

Morning Peeps I won't say good as the weather is far from it here! I can't believe how it changes from day to day, no two days are the same lately!

I'm back with a card I made for the fun of it again - whoa steady on that's two I've made now this year!! I really liked the 'Mood Board' inspiration photo for the latest challenge at Saturated Canary and wanted to make something with those fab colours so here it is!

You'll have to excuse the dark photo, it's such a miserable grey day here.
I've used the super sweet 'Turtle Love' from Krista and coloured with copics. The papers are Kaiser Craft 'Utopia' and were a perfect match for their challenge. Lots of WOC flowers and my new Doo Hickey feather dies from Sir Stampalot
I took another pic with the tag out

Equally as grey and miserable lol
Half way through making it I decided it would be perfect for my friends Granddaughter so I added her name is Stickers, luckily I had a perfect colour match!!

That's it from me today, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend

Anything Goes @ Diva's

Good Morning Guys oh boy do I have a project (and a story) to share today!

First things first lets get the challenge and theme out of the way!
Today is a brand new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week Rebekah has given us

Anything Goes

It was Anything but a card when I made these but I guess as the owner Rebakah has the right to change her mind lol

Michael (my husband) is chairman of his 'Fridaymans' club this year (15 businessmen go out to lunch on the last Friday of each month and once a year they take their wives!!) And as chairman he (read me) have to come up with a present for the ladies. I was told they were having a 'spring' theme and to wrap it in 'springlike' paper.
I decided I could do a bit better than that and made gift boxes!!!
I googled 'Origami box' and found some instructions. I had to alter the fold a bit as the top of the box was as deep as the bottom and I wanted mine to finish half way down the box if you know what I mean??
I already had an idea what I wanted to put inside them as I'm a 'Clarins' fan and love all their products, Beauty Flash Balm is a miracle cream as far as I'm concerned but a tad pricey - so imagine my excitement when I was flicking through the craft channels and saw the very product I wanted at almost HALF PRICE on the Deal Channel!!
You might want to go and get a cup of tea as I haven't got to the good bit yet!!!
After ordering and receiving my bargain and feeling pretty smug with myself for coming up with a fab present at an even fabber price I was totally surprised to get a phone call from Joanne from Ideal World, (yes 'THE' Joanne from Create and Craft) Curiosity had got the better of them as to why I wanted 15 bottles of Beauty Flash Balm! I had such a lovely chat with her, and they had googled my blog (they took a punt it was connected to my email address) and I was grinning all day after that!!
Little Darlings have a fabulous competition on which I thought I'd try and enter too.
Anyway after that rather long (but I hope not tedious) story you might want to actually see what I made!! Warning I have gone overboard with the photo's as I'm so pleased with them
and inside
all 14 (I didn't need the 15th as I didn't go)
From the side

A close up of another
And finally 2 more group photo's

As they have now been received I can tell you all the ladies were chuffed to bits with the fab presents and the unique boxes which were designed towards them (hair colour, glasses etc) I had so many thank you cards/flowers etc I was quite emotional!!

Back to business!! Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of this challenge, the prize on offer and some fabulous inspiration from my teammies.

That's all from me today, after that marathon post I think I need a lie down lol

Edited: OMG were we busy at the seaside this weekend! I don't think I've ever worked so hard or so long. Crafting and blogging has taken a back burner for me and I'm not sure how much time I can devote to it at the minute all I can say is I'll  try!!

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

I'd like to enter these into the following challenges
Wild Orchid Challenge - 3 or more different flowers
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Saturated Canary - All things bright and beautiful

Use Some Metal @ Diva's

Morning Guys, I'm not saying good as it's still FAR TOO COLD to be cheerful, especially when I spent the day down the seafront working to get ready for the up and coming summer season and it was freezing!! I didn't get finished and will be heading back for another go today.

But first things first, it's time for a new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week Rebekah has chosen

Use Some Metal

I have to be honest I didn't have time to make a card using the sponsors image and this was made a while ago for a friend and not blogged so I kinda hope Rebekah doesn't mind!!

My lovely much used Blanche from Saturated Canary, I've definitely had my money's worth out of this image lol, she makes me think of the Tennessee Williams play 'A Streetcar Named Desire' don't ask me why!! The papers are Bo Bunny Isabella and the flowers mostly from WOC I painted my tiny wooden letters to match and my metal is in the form of a crown pin and a bead spacer I used as a belt buckle.

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of the challenge and some 'Divalicious' inspiration from my teammies.

Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back tomorrow with my MAWTT card even if I freeze to death as it's scheduled!!

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges
I Stop Crafts - Recipe (1 Image, 2 Embellishments, 3 Papers)

Lace, Pins & Pearls @ Oldie But Goodie

Hello my lovely friends I think I'm back proper from now on, but things are still a little hectic here. My daughter is home from hospital after her operation and although in pain she is on the mend. The usual family crisis's reign supreme but I guess it keeps us all on our toes!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge a

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

and my lovely friend Debs has chosen the theme

Lace, Pins & Pearls

It took a while to kick start my crafting as I haven't really made anything since November before I went to Euro Disney, Germany and then Barbados! It may take a few weeks to get back in the swing of things, but here is my first attempt!

Its always a pleasure to colour in the gorgeous images from Saturated Canary and Violet Vintage
was no exception - I just love her! She is my latest SC stamp - I want them all!
The papers are Basic Grey Little Black Dress and I coloured my roses in black using copics, those and the others are from WOC, the glass and metal flowers and the pins were bought from the NEC the first time I went about 3 years ago so they will be my 'Old' item. The black lace and black velvet ribbon have also been in my stash for ages.
Remember to tell us what you have used
that is over 6 months old in your post.
Pop over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some devine inspiration from my teammies. Sadly Lisa and Tracy have moved on to pastures new but I will still visit them often!

That's it from me today, thank you for sticking with me while I was absent, its great to be back

Merry Christmas @ Diva's

Ho Ho Ho lovely bloggers - not long to go now!
Hope you have all finished your Christmas shopping and wrapping and that everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit!

It's time for a brand new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and nice and easy its

Merry Christmas

Lol bet you've all got last minute cards to make! I know I have!!
Though I did make this one a while ago before my holidays
This is the beautiful Candy Canes rubber stamp from Saturated Canary. I bought this way back in October, so I think that's good for me to use it in the same year!
The papers are all a bit mixed as are the flowers but I do remember that I painted a star pin pink to match and the lovely Jill sent me those fabby little swirly things.

This challenge is going to run for 3 weeks to get over the Christmas holiday, head over to the main challenge blog for all the details about this and to check out the TWO fabulous sponsors who are covering the extended challenge. While you're there a look what my gorgeous Diva teammies have created for your inspiration.

If I haven't said this yet - Merry Christmas to everyone out there!

By Heck I'm MAWTT

Goodness me what a job I was having to post this! I hope Mr Blogger isn't going to be this awkward again (notice I said Mr as anyone that awkward couldn't be female!! (Sorry Kevin!)
I'm actually feeling really sorry for myself as I failed to make a Magnolia DT yet again this week! Tilda is my all time favourite stamp and I seriously need an excuse to use the 100's of Magnolia stamps I've collected!! But alas it's not to be.

Today I have 2 different DT cards to post and I couldn't decide which was going to be first so I'm putting them both in the same post! (Can't have favourites lol)

First up my regular weekly post for

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

who have a fabulous theme this week

Stitch Up

I love this cute little Sassy Cheryl image and have been itching to use her, my stitching as you can see is 'faux' I did buy a mini sewing machine but a LOT more practice is required before I can actually use a card I've stitched!

Then as it's the first of the month

HECK OF A CHALLENGE

have a brand new challenge theme

50 Shades of Autumn

Neither of these makes were what I had originally planned to post for either challenge, but Lisa beat me to it with her make for the Heck of a challenge and as I'd made the same folded flowers with the exact same paper a quick change of plan was required! lol

My card, using 'Dreads' from the fabulous Saturated Canary is probably at least 42 shades short of the required 50, lol but as its for a 50th birthday I'm covered! (just joking you don't need all 50!)
I bought the 'Papermania' capsule collection paper pad for £1 when we visited the 'Mandy's at the Craft & Hobby Store in October. The Marianne flower florish was also from there.

Follow the links and head over to BOTH challenge blogs for lots of stunning inspiration from both teams and all the details you need for each challenge can be found on the respective blogs.

Thank you all for stopping by, I'm hoping to actually make something 'just for fun' this week - no DT work allowed!!

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

I love using both so here is my card for this challenge
I have to admit I made this before I went on holiday, it's another image that I got with my voucher from my beautiful friend Debs from Saturated Canary, this one is called ' Multi Tasking Mama' I just love how these images colour up with my copics!
My papers are amongst my all time favourite products and I've had them FOREVER! (I bought about 4 pads of each colourway) They are Cosmopolitan from Making Memories and I never tire of them, the pinks are gorgeous too!!

Remember to be in with a chance of winning you must use something that is at least 6 months old, and be sure to let us know in your post what it is!

Hello again lovely Peeps, I've been having a little break to try and sort myself out after our Summer Season but the weather has been so nice I've still been working! At least I've had time for a blog over - just not sure yet if I like it!!!

Anyway I'm back today with a brand new challenge at

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

and this week the lovely Claire is in command and she would like you to

Show Us Your Ribbons

Ribbon is something I have in abundance!!
That doesn't stop me buying more though LOL
This is one of the cards I've been making for my Mum and a friend who have both been asking me to make for them for ages, I just couldn't find any time until now.
The image you don't really need me to tell you is 'Blanche' from the fabulous Krista Smith at Saturated Canary (My lovely friend Debs gave me a voucher for my birthday and I'm addicted) coloured with Copics and pencils, the paper is Echo Park 'For The Record 2' 6x6 pad, the sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a Die Namics label die and the chipboard alphabet has been painted to match. All the flowers are from WOC and in keeping with the challenge rules, my ribbon has been in my drawer for years! Its Tilda ribbon from Panduro.

Remember to qualify for the challenge you must use something on your card that is at least 6 months old and be sure to tell us what it is.

You can find all the details on the main challenge blog along with some beautiful inspiration from my talented teammies.

Fin-Tastic Day @ OBAG

Hello my lovely people, this is a scheduled post as most of the children are all on school holidays and we should be as busy as we can be at work for the next 6 weeks so my visits will be few and far between even more so if the sun is shining!!
Today I'm here for a new challenge at

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

and my best blogging buddy Lisa is at the helm and has given us a

Photo Inspiration Challenge

And here is my take on this photo

I've used another fantastic Saturated Canary image, they are so easy to colour I'm hooked on them at the minute! The papers are Fancy Pants from last summer's Beach Babe 6x6 pad. The flowers and ribbon have been in my stash forever and the 'Fin-tastic' sentiment was printed on my computer and cut with a MFT label die.

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some fabulous inspiration from the girls, you can also check out the prize from this weeks sponsor

I really am sorry to be AWOL but as we only have 6 major weeks at work its quite full on during this time and we work long hours 7 days a week, but I can assure all you guys out there I will be back stalking you all again before long!!

Pink, Pearls & Pretty @ MAWTT

Hello again guys I'm back with a brand new challenge today over at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this time the lovely Mau is in charge and wants to see some

Pink Pretty Pearls in your Celebration

I really enjoyed making this card
using Marry Me from Saturated Canary
I have purposely left the sentiment off as I thought I might add the recipients names when I have someone to send it to! Coloured with Copics. The yummy papers are from Maja Designs they are from the 6x6 Vintage Summer collection and they are super swoony! All my flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts as did the pearls and the heart border is a Magnolia Doo Hickey die.

Shabby/Vintage @ MAWTT

Hello again bloggers, you must be getting fed up with me this week!
Another 3 in a row week for me but I love it even if I'm struggling to keep up!
Today is new challenge day at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this week my lovely teammie SUE is hosting
and she would like to see a
VINTAGE or SHABBY CHIC
theme to your projects please

Now vintage I can't really do at all (yes I've tried - and failed!) and Shabby Chic, well I'm not too sure lol this is definitely shabby but not sure that it reaches the chic! All this ripping, tearing, scratching and such like offends my OCD! but this is the best I could do this week folks
My cards are like buses lately! You wait for one and two come along at once! Last week I gave you Kenny K's on consecutive days and this week its Saturated Canary! This image is called Wedding Day from the very talented Krista Smith. Not sure if you can see from this pic but a serious amount of glamour dust was used in the making of this card lol! Doo Hickey dies, WOC flowers, doves, ribbon, twine and cheesecloth all from my stash and Magnolia paper. Don't look too close, you'll see where I ripped her hair off and had to stick it back on again!
Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some (better) inspiration from my super teammies, you'll also find all the details about the fabulous prize from this weeks sponsor

That's about it from me this week, I'm going to quietly try and get ahead of myself again, I don't like rushing and deadlines - I always end up unhappy with my work in those conditions!

I just need to quickly tell you this, I won at Kenny K last week (which really pleased me)  and last night my 5 digi's were emailed to me by the man himself. Now I know this is probably normal procedure but when I read what he'd wrote
" Elena and I are digging your totally rockin' Tommy Leen card"
I was grinning from ear to ear like an idiot! You would have laughed so much at the stupid expression on my face!

Have a great weekend

It's All Charming @ Diva's

Hello again, I'm keeping up with my posts by the skin of my teeth at the minute! Only a couple of weeks ago I was well ahead of myself then Easter happened (or didn't if you go by the weather!) and now I'm so far behind! I'm hoping to catch up and even get ahead again as I'm off on my hols for a few days at the end of the month. I'll tell you more closer to the time.

Today is a brand new challenge over at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and my oh my how fabulous was that blog hop last week! I'm sorry if I didn't get around to visiting you, things should settle back down the holiday is over and hopefully I'll have more time.
Don't forget to check out the main challenge blog page to see if you won one of the many A-M-A-Z-I-N-G prizes that were up for grabs.

This week Rebekah has given us a CHARMING theme (get it?)

And I'm sooooo excited as I got to play with this......
I'm in love with Saturated Canary images and this week the fabulous
Krista Smith aka Mrs Saturated Canary is sponsoring us!

I've used the image California Girl and Fancy Pants Beach Babe papers, coloured with my Copics and Prisma pencils. The ribbon was a gift from Kerry at LCI  and assorted die cuts
were involved with the making of this lol! My charm is a little flip flop from my stash
. I'm actually getting better at using things now, not so long ago I couldn't bring myself to part with anything!

I hope you'll have time to join us this week and I hope to get to visit a lot more of you.
Thanks for stopping by today, I'll be back tomorrow with my MAWTT card (if I get it made!)
