I Heard It On The Radio @ MAWTT

Good Morning lovely people, I hope you are all well . My this year is flying by it must be my age!!! I just can't get my head around crafting and blogging lately, I have been missing in action so long, I thought I would have been back in a routine by now but I'm just not feeling it!!
I am here today with  a card I made weeks ago again which fortunately fits my DT commitments for the new challenge at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this week we have one of my favourite themes

Heard It On The Radio

I've gone with 'Love & Marriage'
You can't beat a bit of Frank Sinatra!!!
This card was requested after I made one very similar earlier in the year (I think everyone I know wants me to use these images together for a wedding card now, thanks Sharon what have you started!) It is my favourite LOTV stamp so I didn't mind too much lol
I've used some gorgeous My Minds Eye papers that I've had for a while and you can tell from the date of the wedding I added to the card, I made this a couple of months ago.

Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some
 gorgeous inspiration from my teammies.
That's it from me, enjoy your weekend

With Love @ Diva's

Good morning lovely peeps hopefully you are reading this, as it is another scheduled post, and I am off to the bright lights and big city of London yet again for part two of my Christmas present from my friend, another musical, this time its The Commitments. I loved the film so I'm sure I will the stage show, all I have to do this time is try to stay awake LOL as I did have a little nap during The Bodyguard a couple of weeks ago!

The reason for my visit today is the start of a new challenge at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week the very talented Rebekah has chosen

With Love

As I don't really need any valentine cards I went with a wedding theme, I've a couple of orders to make so here is the first. I can't take any credit for this as my lovely teammie Sharon gave me inspiration for this when she first used these two stamps together HERE

I never tire of this beautiful LOTV stamp, and I say that after using it 150 times for my Nephews wedding invitations some of you may remember! I absolutely adore it teamed up with the fantastic Magnolia Love Heart background stamp (which I got from Sir Stampalot and the Doo Hickey heart border die and swirl was from there too). The papers are Bo Bunny Isabella and they are soooooooooo pretty, most of my pad has gone now, well all my favourite sheets anyway!!
Coloured with Copics, flowers, feathers and beads things from everywhere, pink lace from the Ribbon Girl, the sparkly heart buttons I've had for ages and the organza ribbon is from this weeks sponsor

Head over to the Diva's challenge blog for all the details of the super prize on offer and lots of luscious Love creations from my super talented teammies.

That's all from me, I'm going to be singing 'mustang sally' well into the small hours and god help anyone who sits near me on the train on the way home LOL I'm tone deaf!
My little boy (24 years old but still my baby) arrives home today from his trip to Japan to see his twin sister who's there for 6 months, it's been so quiet without him here I can't wait to see him, I might have to wake him up if he's asleep when I get back from London!

Thank you for stopping by and for any lovely comments you leave, they really do make my day.

Diva's and A Proud Mum!

Morning lovely peeps, my doesn't the time fly!! Can you believe January is almost over already? I haven't even had time to get myself organised this year and I had such great plans lol!
I had a day out in London on Monday, my friend had bought me a ticket to see The Bodyguard musical for Christmas and I had such a lovely time, I was worried it would too much for me too soon as I got picked up at 8.30am and we didn't get home till gone 1am but it was very slow paced with a long lunch and an early supper tucked inbetween the retail therapy!! We are doing it all over again in a fortnight to see The Commitments. The only thing I missed out on was I had to have orange juice in Harvey Nicks Champagne Bar as I'm not allowed alcohol for 6 Months!!

Now the real reason for my visit, it's time for a new challenge over at

DIVA'S BY DESIGN

and this week the theme is

Vintage With Lace

I have to be honest I struggle with making vintage cards though I do love the style, I'm hoping my frayed and torn edges will be vintage enough!!

I used a beautiful Saturated Canary stamp that is having its 2nd outing with me lol, I have so many that I haven't used yet so to use one twice is really rare. It's such a shame they are not carrying on with their challenges this year, not that I joined in that much but I always wanted too!
The papers are Pion and the tiny stamp is from Stampin' Up! My usual flower display is from everywhere!! WOC, Hobby House, Ribbon Girl, Kort Et God and Magnolia and the beautiful little 'love' clip is from this weeks fabulous sponsor, where I spend all my pennies

I dare you to visit and not buy something amazing!! Everytime I go there they have something I can't live without - again!! Head over to the Diva's Challenge blog for all the information you need and some glorious vintage inspiration from my talented teammies.

Before I go some of you that actually read to the end of my waffle may remember I went off to my eldest sons PhD Graduation ceremony a week or so ago in Exeter and I promised a picture.
Meet Dr Jordan James Large.........
I was so proud and on the verge of tears all day!! To think I was so ill just a few days before that I could have missed this doesn't bear thinking about. I'm amazed at what he has achieved, he worked so hard going through school a year ahead of himself from the age of 4 and not stopping till finally at the tender age of 25 he has more letters behind his name than he has in it! A Dr of Mathematics and Economics and (I know I'm biased but) one of the nicest, kindest people I've ever come across.
I love you little man!

I'm crying now lol, what am I like? Thank you to everyone for all your comments,
all your good wishes and your friendship.

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

Inspired By A Song Or Film

Morning Peeps I'm a wee it excited today as I get to host a challenge at

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

and I've chosen my favourite theme

Inspired By A Song or Film

Last time I chose this theme I couldn't stop singing my way around all your blogs!
It was so much fun LOL
My song inspiration is 'Chapel Of Love' by The Dixie Cups
Are you singing it yet?
I had to make a wedding card amongst the orders from my Mum and a friend and I've used my uber cute LOTV image that I haven't used since I made 150 wedding invitations with it! I still adore this beautiful little image and wasn't put off by the volume of invites - just wouldn't want to do it again in a hurry!
. I followed an old sketch from the no longer running truly scrumptious blog and a lot of inspiration from the very talented Fleur! I love her muted tones and vintage look and have tried to emulate it here.
The papers are really old, they are paper pizazz and are some of the first crafty stuff I bought, all the flowers are from WOC and the lace is new from is from The Ribbon Girl. The bronze heart charm was a gift from the lovely Jill, my super talented friend from Norway - thank you Hunny.
Head over to the main blog page for lots of fabulous inspiration from my lovely teammies and all the details of the prize up for grabs from this weeks sponsor

Remember to be eligible for the prize you must use something on your creation that is at least 6 months old and be sure to tell us what it is.

Hello again guys I'm back with a brand new challenge today over at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this time the lovely Mau is in charge and wants to see some

Pink Pretty Pearls in your Celebration

I really enjoyed making this card
using Marry Me from Saturated Canary
I have purposely left the sentiment off as I thought I might add the recipients names when I have someone to send it to! Coloured with Copics. The yummy papers are from Maja Designs they are from the 6x6 Vintage Summer collection and they are super swoony! All my flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts as did the pearls and the heart border is a Magnolia Doo Hickey die.

Make sure you head over to the main challenge blog for all the details of this challenge and check out the fabulous inspiration from the DT this week.

Shabby/Vintage @ MAWTT

Hello again bloggers, you must be getting fed up with me this week!
Another 3 in a row week for me but I love it even if I'm struggling to keep up!
Today is new challenge day at

MOVING ALONG WITH THE TIMES

and this week my lovely teammie SUE is hosting
and she would like to see a
VINTAGE or SHABBY CHIC
theme to your projects please

Now vintage I can't really do at all (yes I've tried - and failed!) and Shabby Chic, well I'm not too sure lol this is definitely shabby but not sure that it reaches the chic! All this ripping, tearing, scratching and such like offends my OCD! but this is the best I could do this week folks
My cards are like buses lately! You wait for one and two come along at once! Last week I gave you Kenny K's on consecutive days and this week its Saturated Canary! This image is called Wedding Day from the very talented Krista Smith. Not sure if you can see from this pic but a serious amount of glamour dust was used in the making of this card lol! Doo Hickey dies, WOC flowers, doves, ribbon, twine and cheesecloth all from my stash and Magnolia paper. Don't look too close, you'll see where I ripped her hair off and had to stick it back on again!
Head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and some (better) inspiration from my super teammies, you'll also find all the details about the fabulous prize from this weeks sponsor

That's about it from me this week, I'm going to quietly try and get ahead of myself again, I don't like rushing and deadlines - I always end up unhappy with my work in those conditions!

I just need to quickly tell you this, I won at Kenny K last week (which really pleased me)  and last night my 5 digi's were emailed to me by the man himself. Now I know this is probably normal procedure but when I read what he'd wrote
" Elena and I are digging your totally rockin' Tommy Leen card"
I was grinning from ear to ear like an idiot! You would have laughed so much at the stupid expression on my face!

Have a great weekend
Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

LCI New Release & A Blog Hop

Good morning bloggers I hope it's all nice and sunny in your part of the world, it certainly should be in mine at the moment! Obviously this is scheduled!!

Exciting times at
today it's not just a normal Totally Ladybug Tuesday, all the Ladybugs are extracited as it's a Blogaversary  and Kerry is celebrating with a fab New Release and a Blog Hop and there are sooooo many prizes up for grabs!

With so much happening I don't know where to start!!

You should have arrived here from Pinky's' blog, to join in the hop just visit the Ladybugs in order, leave a comment on each of their blogs and then leave a comment on the main LCI challenge blog too.
Easy Peasy - yes?

The Fabulous new release is all about weddings, don't you just love a wedding? We were all given images to play with and none of us have seen each others cards!!
I used the two stamps I was given on the one card, I love the Wedding Cake - that's probably because I just love cake in general!! You'll have to head over to the LCI blog for all the details of the lush new stamps, as I didn't have them when I typed this - sorry, but while your there you can check to see if you were the lucky winner of last weeks challenge.

This weeks challenge has everyones favourite theme
'ANYTHING GOES'
Remember - you don't have to use an LCI image to join in but we sure love it when you do! And the winner of the challenge gets to pick the stamp of their choice!

One more thing.....every Ladybug is offering Blog Hop candy on their blog, to be eligible for this you have to have commented on each blog on the Hop and they will choose their winners from the list of commenter's.
Here's my candy

Right, now you need to know that the next stop on the Hop is Kerry's blog but don't worry if you get lost - just head back to the main challenge blog and start again!

I hope you all took advantage of the Fantastic Half Price
Stamp Of the Month last week?
If not - don't worry you still have time.

That's it from me - Happy Hopping

The First 100

Well folks summer is over with a bang by the looks of it out my window! Unfortunately I'm still not cold - bloody hot flushes will be the death of me!

Just a really quick post from me today as I'm driving to Leicester to visit my Mum again this morning, so if I'm not about its because my Mother has no Internet!!
I wanted to show you the first 100 wedding invitations that I made for my nephew's wedding, they were collected last week and are being sent out at the moment. I still have another 50 to finish but fortunately for me the bride to be has said she thinks she'll only need another 35 - phew!

For anybody out there who is thinking of making wedding invites - THINK AGAIN!!!!!

I changed them a little from the original one I made - hopefully for the better
I'm really pleased with how they turned out, very pretty and delicate
You wouldn't believe how much plain white paper and glue was used in the making of these LOL and thanks to Lisa and Pam for helping when they were here. Lisa cut out all the images and glittered them while Pam and I were colouring them.
I had a bit of a production line set up with making the boxes, my son, his girlfriend and my daughter all had a huge part in that while I was glueing on all the flowers and swirls.
This picture shows all 100 on my kitchen table and the box lids which were separate while the glue dried. The reply card and night before invite were just printed out in pink on white card and I rounded off the corners. I didn't think to take a picture of them but I will of the others when I've finished them.

I know he probably doesn't read this blog but just encase I want to wish my eldest son Jordan a very Happy Birthday - 24 today xx

I'm entering these into the challenge at Bling It On - 'No Patterned Papers'

Moving Along With A Slice Of Cake!

Good morning Blogland I'm back to a bit of normality this week, I'm about to have two days at home to catch up on all my chores - no work - no taxi-ing anyone about - no funerals to attend miles from home! Just piles and piles of ironing!!!!

It's Thursday again which means DT time for me over at
Wow did we have a massive response to Pami's Anything Goes challenge last week - over 400 fantastic entries - I'm glad I didn't have to choose that winner!

This week it's Shell's turn to host and she has chosen 'Have Some Cake' We have been sponsored by Bows and Berries who are offering the winner 2 Digi's from their store and everyone who enters can have a whopping 25% discount with this code BB25 whilst the challenge is running! We were lucky to be given some fun images to play with.
For my card today I have tried my hand at paper piecing for the first time. I kept it nice and simple - glossy white and glossy black card and my top tier is spotty, I've 'net pieced' the veil if that counts! My sentiment is LOTV and along with some polka dot DP, a scrap of net and some ribbon that was that! I'm quite pleased with the outcome - believe it or not, this is very 'less is more for me! lol

Be sure to head over to the main challenge blog to check out the fabulous DT makes and I hope you will join us again this week for another great challenge.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Ladybugs Crafts Ink  - Going Dotty
Simon Says Stamps - Paper Piecing or Piercing
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Divas By Design  - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by to have a look and to those that do for your lovely comments.
Love 'n' Hugs
