Sunny In The Lake District!

Well as promised just a couple of quick pics taken in the Lake District last week, I'm not sure of all the place names as it was my first visit but I do hope it won't be my last!

There were 16 of us and not one had the right clothes as we were expecting rain and only got sun!

I took most of the pictures but I am on a couple!

This was taken at Honister slate mine, I'm hiding behind Mike on the left!
This was on the bridge at the beginning of our walk around Buttermere,
these pictures are backwards as we went to Honister after we had a been to Buttermere and had the obligatory pub lunch!
I can't remember which one this was! A lot of alcohol is consumed on these group getaways! It was extremely beautiful and the water was so clear!
A little bit of culture! The white building inbetween the 2 slate houses is Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth - I wandered lonely as a cloud etc etc etc.....
Again I'm not sure which lake this is! I do know we were on the way to the Drunken Duck for a very fine pub lunch and the best chips I've ever tasted!
This is me and Alan, Fridaymans newest member on the last night, again alcohol was aplenty. I don't like this picture but Lisa tells me off for not posting recent pictures of me!

I'll be back tomorrow with my MAWTT card (if I've managed to finish it!)

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie xx

Love the pictures Laurie, not been there very often to say that it is not really all that far from me. As my Dad used to say "who needs to go abroad, when there are so many nice place to see in England and you got the weather.
Since I have met you, your blog photo is not you, to me, if you follow that. I agree with Lisa.

Lucky you! I visited the area with my sister back in 1978 and we had 3weeks of mostly rain AND we were walking. ;-(
Great photographs, including the last one. Personally, I think it would look great as your profile picture. Isn't it funny how most of us never like the way we look in photographs LOL?
